With full creative freedom, we transformed this blank canvas into a functional, visually striking outdoor space that balances structure, warmth, and timeless appeal.
Client’s Challenge
- Featureless New Build Space: New-build gardens often begin as uninspired blank slates, with little character or usability.
- Dominating Boundary Wall: The large monolithic boundary wall posed an aesthetic challenge, creating a harsh visual barrier.
Our Solution
Our approach focused on cohesion, texture, and thoughtful design to meet the challenges and achieve the client’s vision:
- Dark Limestone Paving: We incorporated dark limestone paving for its rich texture and timeless finish, adding sophistication to the space while providing durability.
- Wooden Sleepers: To balance the strong lines and level changes, we installed durable wooden sleepers, adding warmth and structural depth to the garden.
- Softening the Boundary Wall: Sleeper planters and minimalist trellis panels were used to transform the monolithic boundary wall into a subtle yet striking feature, introducing character without overwhelming the balance of the design.
- Encouraging Wildlife: An integrated planter along the rear wall adds seasonal colour while inviting local wildlife to the garden.
- Seamless Pathway: A clean-lined pathway ties together the garden, creating flow and cohesion across the overall design.
